Volunteers are the heart of the ICSC Foundation and ICSC Foundation Canada. We count on ICSC members to share their time, talent and energy to bring our mission to life. Explore the following volunteer opportunities.
Join one of our distinguished judging panels to review and score ICSC Foundation scholarship applications. The Foundation awards over $210,000 in student support annually and receives more than 400 applications for these scholarships each year. Scholarship judges play an important role in helping to identify future talent in the retail real estate industry.
Commitment: 3–4 hours cumulatively in mid-March
Volunteer for the unique opportunity to be paired with an ambitious student mentee who is eager to gain a professional understanding of retail real estate. Through an academic-year-long commitment, mentors support and guide their mentees, share their industry knowledge, gain exciting new perspectives and help advance the next generation of talent.
Commitment: 1–2 hours per month from September through May
The ICSC Foundation hosts various opportunities for students to connect with industry professionals at dealmaking events. These opportunities include panels, small group meetings, speed networking sessions and shadowing experiences.
Applicable conferences: ICSC@RED RIVER, ICSC@CAROLINAS, ICSC LAS VEGAS, ICSC@FLORIDA, ICSC@WESTERN, ICSC@CANADA, ICSC@SOUTHEAST and ICSC NEW YORK.
Commitment: 30 minutes – 1 hour
ICSC hosts two undergraduate case competitions: a virtual competition in the fall and an in-person competition that takes place at ICSC LAS VEGAS. Judges evaluate student presentations addressing prompts based on real-world deals.
Commitment:
Virtual Case Competition: Prelims – 90 minutes; Finals – 5 hours
ICSC LAS VEGAS Case Competition: Prelims – 5 hours; Finals – 2.5 hours.
