Bedding brand plans 50 new stores over five years

November 22, 2019

Bedding and sleepwear company Sheex says it aims to open about 50 stores across the country within five years.

The company’s products are stocked on the shelves of nearly 1,000 Bed Bath & Beyond stores, and the exposure has helped the company build momentum for expansion. Sheex’s first step into brick-and-mortar retail is the company’s 1,700-square-foot pop-up store, at King of Prussia (Pa.) Mall. The pop-up will remain open for six months as Sheex works out plans for a permanent store at that property. It carries the company’s sheets, comforters, pillows, mattress pads and more.

“Our unique pop-up store will allow customers a firsthand opportunity to experience these amazing fabrics and [to] design a bedding bundle unique to their sleep personality,” said Michelle Marciniak, the brand’s co-founder and co-CEO, as reported in Home Textiles Today.

“Our business has grown by 200 percent in the past year and a half, primarily due to our plan to increase direct television marketing,” Marciniak told Pennsylvania newspaper The Morning Call. “The key for us now is to build out these retail stores. We have a five-year plan to build as many as 50 retail stores across America."
