Presented in eight learning modules, ICSC’s Public Sector Retail Real Estate Workshop is designed for professionals who are focused on developing viable retail spaces within their communities. This six-hour program will be presented in two three-hour courses over two days. Registrants must attend both presentations.
Participants will explore options for applying lessons to their own communities, while engaging with instructors and peers. Through practical examples and applied exercises, participants will develop the tools to better understand their retail market, identify appropriate retailer prospects, position available sites and communicate their community’s value to prospective retailers.

- Building targeted prospect lists of retailers that align with market demographics and trade area
- Evaluating and marketing available retail sites effectively to prospective tenants
- Developing compelling sales pitches that address retailer concerns and highlight community advantages
Certificate Maintenance (CM) Credits:
- APA: Six (6) CM credits toward the American Planning Association’s American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Certification
- IEDC: Two (2) Level II CM credits toward the International Economic Development Council’s Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) Certification
