Grant Alert: F&B Small Business Owners of Color

August 10, 2022

Entrepreneurs of color within the food-and-beverage industry can apply for a $10,000 grant from the Entrepreneurial Spirit Fund. Applications are due by Sept. 26.

The fund will offer 11 grants this year, after disbursing $250,000 in grants in 2021, the year it debuted. SIA Scotch Whisky founder Carin Luna-Ostaseski, a first-generation Cuban American and one of the first Latina creators of blended Scotch, also will mentor winners.

Eligible businesses must:

  • be majority-owned by a person or persons of color, at least 25-years-old as of Nov. 1, 2022
  • operate as a for-profit business producing less than $5 million in annual gross revenue
  • do business in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, Nevada, Rhode Island or Texas
  • not be an alcohol retailer license holder
