ICSC no longer tests or confers for the certifications listed below. If you are a designee in good standing, your certification(s) will remain valid. The certification(s) will be maintained and recognized by ICSC without further testing or continuing education requirements. Please note the dates below to determine if you are in good standing.

For the CRRP certification, you must have been in good standing as of November 6, 2023.

Certified Retail Real Estate Professional (CRRP)
The Certified Retail Real Estate Professional (CRRP) certification is the result of a collaborative effort by industry experts across various disciplines with the purpose of creating a holistic approach to integrating industry specialties. The inclusive, broad nature of the CRRP certification demonstrates that professionals, both new and seasoned, have achieved a well-rounded competency of the industry.

For the certification(s) below, you must have been in good standing by April 2, 2018.

Certified Retail Property Executive (CRX)
Best suited for professionals engaged in retail property executive functions or senior level leadership positions. Qualifying experience needed: Asset management, development and re-development, finance, accounting, leasing, revenue generation, retailing, marketing and communications, legal compliance, property and facilities management.
 

Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM)
Best suited for professionals engaged in aspects of shopping center and retail real estate management.
Qualifying experience needed: Retail real estate maintenance, lease negotiation or administration, retailing, merchandising, marketing or promotion, community relations, purchasing insurance, financing, security and legal functions​


Certified Development, Design & Construction Professional (CDP)
Best suited for professionals engaged in retail real estate site selection and acquisition, shopping center and retail real estate development, or design and/or construction of shopping centers as an owner representative.
Qualifying experience needed: Development management, project management, tenant coordination, architecture, engineering, general contracting, construction management, facility management, retail store planning, retail construction management


Certified Leasing Specialist (CLS)
Best suited for professionals engaged in long-term or short-term leasing or substantial responsibility for leasing shopping centers/retail real estate as an employee representative or agent of an owner and/or tenant.
Qualifying experience needed: ​Tenant management, trade area analysis, lease negotiation, specialty leasing, financing, retailing​

Certified Marketing Director (CMD) 
Best suited for professionals engaged in shopping center and retail real estate marketing research, public and community relations, as well as advertising, traditional media and digital media functions.
Qualifying experience needed: ​Retail real estate center marketing, research, marketing plan implementation, public and community relations, advertising, media buying​


Specialty Leasing Designation (SLD)
Best suited for professionals engaged in various aspects of specialty leasing regardless of career stage but also available to shopping center professionals seeking a deeper understanding of specialty leasing.
Qualifying experience needed: ​Sales and merchandising for the common area, sponsorship advertising & ancillary income, retailer financials, marketing opportunities and tactics, deal making structures and tactics, visual merchandising & RMU design, negotiation and sales skills​
