Faith Hope Consolo, chairman of Douglas Elliman’s retail group and one of New York City’s highest-profile retail brokers, died Dec. 23. She was 73.
Consolo was instrumental in bringing several premier global luxury retailers to New York City, including Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Versace and Yves Saint Laurent, from where they went on to open additional locations at other high-end U.S. retail locations. Her brand, represented by her slogan “You need Faith,” is ubiquitous on vacant storefronts across the city, and she dubbed herself the “queen of retail.”
A member of ICSC, Consolo participated in several panel discussions over the years. “Faith was a driving and iconic force in New York City’s retail sector,” said Steven James, president of Douglas Elliman’s New York City region, in a statement.
Consolo served on the board of the Association of Real Estate Women and founded the AREW Charitable Fund.
