Outlet Collection Winnipeg wins ICSC award

January 23, 2020

ICSC recognized Outlet Collection Winnipeg for excellence in innovation and creativity, with a North America Design & Development Award. The Ivanhoé Cambridge project garnered the Gold in the New Developments category, honored for sustainability.

The 400,000-square-foot center, built on a former rail yard, features a neutral design palette and incorporates warm wood accents, glass-panel frontage, skylights, industrial-style windows, vaulted open ceilings, exposed pipes and brickwork. Indigenous trees, shrubs, prairie grasses and native Tyndall stone slabs create linear paths from the entrances to the parking areas. A comprehensive way-finding and navigation system composed of environmental graphics, signage and digital podiums enables visitors to locate their destinations.

Interspersed among such retailers as Kate Spade New York, Lacoste, Lululemon Athletica, Michael Kors, Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Stores and Saks Off 5th are living-room-inspired communal areas with fireplaces, indoor gardens, and seating and lounge spaces.
