RECon 2019 features a new, special outlet center section in Central Hall. Exhibitors in the section include The Outlet Resource Group (TORG), Craig Realty, Miromar, Outlets of Maui, Centralia, Charles Company and more.
Outlet centers continue to create excitement with new concepts as the industry is being redefined with experiential entertainment concepts and locally owned brands while improving food-and-beverage offerings and amenities.
Charles Company is at RECon discussing its Gran Plaza Outlets in Calexico, Calif., and the recent opening of the Mexican/United States border crossing near the center. The new crossing allows for quicker crossing times. Meanwhile, the center has purchased ads at the crossing to be seen by the 52,000 daily northbound cars. New retailers at the center include Steve Madden and Guess Kids.
Christine Strange of Shops of Grand River, located in Leeds, Ala., is at RECon promoting the expanding entertainment options coming to the center. Upcoming additions include a brew pub, bbq restaurant, children’s playground and dog park with bath.
“It will be a destination unlike anything in Alabama,” Strange said.
TORG exhibits at RECon following an announcement last month that it, along with Singerman Real Estate, had acquired four centers from Tanger.
“RECon gives us an opportunity to meet with the retailers at those centers,” said TORG Partner David Hinkle. “We’ll discuss our leasing and marketing strategies. It’s always important that the retailers know you have effective plans in place.”
TORG recently announced that its OKC Outlets added three new tenants: The Sanctuary Escape, Pepper Palace and The Old Nocona Boot Factory.
