On October 7 ICSC held its 10th Annual Aldermanic Rooftop Event in downtown Chicago at The Godfrey Hotel I/O Rooftop Lounge.
The Illinois Government Relations Committee organized the event, which was attended by more than 100 ICSC members, 16 aldermen, four Cook County commissioners, and seven city officials.
The Program Planning Committee was led by ICSC Illinois Government Relations Chair Lawrence Falbe (Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone) and Co-Chairs Anna Maria Kowalik (Inland Green Capital LLC) and ICSC Central Division Operations Chair Donna J. Pugh (Foley & Lardner, LLC). Jennifer Tammen (Ehlers, Inc.) was the Sponsorship Chair and Leon Walker, the Educational Session Chair. Committee members included Todd Berlinghof (Hamilton Partners), Edward Dushman (Foresite Realty Partners, LLC), Pamela Engebretsen (Roux, Inc), Moses Hall (Miller Chicago Real Estate), Alessandra Halliburton (KW Commercial), Melissa Noesges, Jesal Patel (Patel Realty), and Jonathan Stein (Inland Real Estate Commercial Brokerage).
“This 10th Anniversary Aldermanic Rooftop Event was our best effort yet and by all accounts, a huge success,” Falbe said. “I think the Aldermen and other city and county officials recognize that the work of ICSC in the retail space can be an enormous benefit to them and their constituents, and greatly appreciate the chance to engage with our members outside of a formal setting or development meeting. Our members are equally invested in establishing and improving their relationships with the Aldermen and their staffs, and our event provides them with a fun and unique opportunity to do exactly that.”
“This event gives both ICSC members and governmental officials the unique opportunity to meet and discuss economic development topics in relaxed, social setting, no strings attached,” Kowalik said. “The Illinois State Government Relations Committee looks forward to this continuing event next year and every year.”
The event sponsors were: Arcadis U.S., Inc.; Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella P.C.; Cabanban, Rubin & Mayberry Commercial Realty; Clark Street Real Estate; DL3 Realty, LP; Draper & Kramer Inc.; Foley & Lardner LLP; Foresite Realty; Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP; Ice Miller LLP; Inventrust Properties; IRC Retail Centers; Matanky Realty Group, Inc.; Milhouse Engineering & Construction; Miller Canfield; Pine Tree; Retail Strategies; Wight & Company.
