ICSC PAC joined other retail and real estate PACs in hosting a reception in support of Defend the Dream PAC with Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA) on April 16. It was the first such event held at ICSC’s new Government Relations & Public Policy office space in Washington, DC.
Discussion topics included organized retail crime, as well as certain tax provisions that are expiring in 2025 that are important to our membership in fostering development in communities. Padilla also talked about progress made by California in combating organized retail crime and how that can serve as a model for federal legislation. During his time as a member of the Los Angeles City Council Padilla was actively involved in approving several projects to bring retail to his community in the San Fernando Valley.
