Juul, which controls about 75 percent of the U.S. vaping market, says it plans to open stores in Dallas and Houston, according to reports.
Juul has reportedly begun hiring employees for these Texas shops, and a Juul store is also expected to open soon in South Korea.
The stores would prohibit customers under age 21, the government-mandated age for purchases of any e-cigarette product. The company has set up technologies intended to discourage underage consumers from illegally buying its products at the stores.
The upscale brand’s products are sold now in about 100,000 stores, including 7-Eleven, gas stations and specialty vape shops.
