Membership and RECon 2021 Update (October 8, 2020)

Thursday, October 8, 2020

Dear ICSC Members,

Over the past eight months as we have navigated the COVID-19 pandemic, our goal has been to serve as an anchor and source of critical information and support through this storm. We have been relentlessly focused on advocacy, rolled out new virtual offerings, extended membership terms, created the ICSC online community, introduced ICSC Health Plans and more. We also recognize the importance our members place on connecting in person with their peers, business partners and industry leaders, and we are eager, when it is safe and allowed, to return to hosting live events.

The current outlook suggests the pandemic will impact our industry well into 2021. With the health and safety of our members and team top of mind, and in consultation with ICSC's Chair, Vice Chair and Executive Board, we are moving the dates of RECon 2021 to December 5 – 7, 2021, in Las Vegas and canceling live events through the first quarter of 2021. Additionally, as one measure of support in these challenging times, we are extending all membership terms, as of September 30, 2020, for an additional six months.

Moving RECon to later in the year gives us the best opportunity to bring the industry Back. Together. live in the city and venue most familiar and preferred by our members. Over the course of the next several months, we also will introduce a robust schedule of virtual local, small‑scale events focused on business topics and functional areas, through the new ICSC Connect Local Talks series. We hope that an enhanced focus on smaller 60- to 90‑minute discussion‑oriented events will provide an effective means to support member networking.

The business challenges presented by the COVID‑19 pandemic have led us to transform the way we deliver value to our members. The virtual Next Gen Summit was the first of its kind and Now & Next: Retail in the Age of COVID-19 was another inaugural event for ICSC. We encourage you to take advantage of the complimentary registration offered for RECon Canada and RECon NY and we look forward to seeing you there.

Thank you for your membership.
