Kimco Realty says it will invest some $8 million in the coming year to overhaul light systems at about 100 properties in its Western region. The plan is to retrofit and replace older bulbs and fixtures with LEDs and similar environmentally advanced technologies. The investment is part of a larger initiative the firm calls Illumi-Nation, which is to be rolled out initially at select -properties in Arizona, California, Colorado, Oregon and Washington, and later across its national portfolio.
