Ulta Beauty Launches Grants for BIPOC Small Business Cosmetics Brands

June 22, 2022

Ulta Beauty will run a 10-week incubator for Black, Indigenous, and people of color-owned, early-stage cosmetics brands. The new Muse Accelerator program will begin in September, when eight brands will receive $50,000 grants and support for supply chain, merchandising, legal and marketing issues.

Brands must have more than one product, must be “shelf-ready” and must not be on sale at major retailers.

Ulta Beauty began its Muse 100 grant program last year, as part of a $50 million investment in diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. Sephora shifted its own accelerator program focus to BIPOC brands in 2021.
