Small Businesses Gain Ground at Tanger Centers

July 14, 2022

Tanger Outlets executive chair Steven Tanger said revenue for its 38 centers across North America is rising sharply from pandemic lows. He said a small business initiative helped the REIT’s centers discover “compelling new retailers and brands, which have enhanced our tenant mix and provide us access to new shoppers.” The REIT owns 38 centers across North America.

Inga Toye, who owns and operates the Blossoms Boutique jewelery and apparel store at the Washington, D.C.- area Tanger Outlets National Harbor, was pleased with the chance to test her brand in side-by-side competition with national brands. “The exposure is just so great,” she said in a video on Tanger Outlets’ Facebook page. “I was able to come in and try to give the people of the local community an amazing shopping experience.”

In the same video, DTT by L. Green boutique owner LaTasha Green added: “You get a chance to test the waters , and you don’t get that opportunity everywhere, to be up against national brands without having to sign a long-term lease. I’ve been able to introduce my brand to a lot of people, and I have a lot of repeat clients.”
