Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and CBS game analyst Tony Romo will be the keynote speaker at ICSC’s RECon 2019 in Las Vegas next month.
Romo played 14 seasons with the Cowboys and holds several team records, including the most passing touchdowns and the most passing yards, games with at least 300 passing yards, and games with three or more touchdown passes. His 97.1 passer rating is the fourth-highest of all time. After Romo’s retirement, following the 2016 season, CBS Sports hired him as a commentator, and he is now the network’s lead NFL game analyst.
“Tony’s expertise reaches far beyond the football field, and we’re thrilled to have him keynote RECon to demonstrate how good leadership and a strong work ethic can drive a person to greatness”
Romo will speak on RECon’s May 19 opening day about leadership and sportsmanship and about his path to becoming a Pro Bowl football player, in a presentation sponsored by LoopNet, a CoStar Group company. As part of the event, Romo will be host to a football-throwing contest with a RECon attendee — selected through a competition — culminating in a $50,000 donation from LoopNet to a charity of Romo’s choosing.
RECon, the largest annual retail real estate conference, runs May 19–22 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
“Tony’s expertise reaches far beyond the football field, and we’re thrilled to have him keynote RECon to demonstrate how good leadership and a strong work ethic can drive a person to greatness,” said Tom McGee, ICSC’s president and CEO. “There’s a lot to learn from perseverance and hard work, and Tony knows this well.”
Other keynote speakers at this year’s RECon include CNBC personality Marcus Lemonis, who will discuss innovation across the industry and beyond.
RECon 2019 will feature roughly 125 new exhibitors. Additional conference and registration information is available here.
