In the pipeline: Who’s building what, where

San Jose, Calif.
Developer Peter Pau plans to redevelop the 343,000-square-foot El Paseo de Saratoga shopping center into a mixed-use village. Existing tenants AMC Saratoga 14, REI and Ulta Beauty will continue to anchor the center. The Mercury News

Prices Corner, Del.
One of Delaware’s oldest retail centers is getting a makeover. Prices Corner shopping center is undergoing redevelopment to subdivide the 200,000-square-foot space previously occupied by Sears, which closed in April 2018, to make way for a collection of smaller stores. Delaware News Journal

Kailua, Hawaii
The $18 million renovation of Alexander & Baldwin's Aikahi Park Shopping Center includes improvements to the landscaping, walkways and parking lot, along with the creation of outdoor seating areas. Honolulu Star-Advertiser

Waikoloa Village, Hawaii
Completion of the 136,000-square-foot Waikoloa Plaza is scheduled for this fall. Tenants will include Ace Hardware, Aloha Petroleum, Fitness Forever, Foodland and Popeyes. Construction on a 140-room Holiday Inn hotel on the property is expected to start in January 2020 for completion in April 2021. Hawaii Tribune-Herald

Suffolk County, N.Y.
Developers now say they will build a 55,600-square-foot building for Hobby Lobby in Riverhead, reversing their original plans to build a multitenant center there. Riverhead News-Review

Charlotte, N.C.
Ascent Real Estate Capital will convert a 6,500-square-foot former tire shop into a modern shopping plaza, set for completion in the fall. Full-service restaurants, a coffee shop, medical offices and providers of various neighborhood services will be among the tenants. Charlotte Five

Jacksonville, N.C.
HomeGoods, Michaels, Publix and Ulta Beauty will be anchors of a shopping center that is set to open in the fall. WCTI 12

Pittsburgh
The former Macy’s anchor store in the Waterfront shopping center is being converted into class-A office space for two tenants that will occupy 90 percent of the former department store. Macy’s operated at the site for roughly a decade, closing in 2018 when the owners of the shopping complex bought the building. Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
