ICSC president and CEO Tom McGee will visit his alma mater, Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, on March 18 to encourage business leaders of tomorrow to aim high and to look to the Marketplaces Industry for career opportunities. McGee, a 1989 graduate, will keynote the LMU Real Estate Career Day.
“Our industry is changing rapidly, and we must create a more agile, diverse and engaged workforce,” McGee said. “ICSC is committed to building a robust talent pipeline for the Marketplaces Industry, and I am pleased to be a part of LMU’s career day and eager to discuss the opportunities available to the students.”
McGee sits on the LMU board of trustees, and LMU is an ICSC University Partner. Through the ICSC Foundation’s University Partnerships Program, University Partners can access ICSC’s onsite and online professional development and education opportunities. They also receive an unlimited number of student memberships in ICSC, providing students access to the people and resources that can help develop their careers. The program is part of the ICSC Foundation’s Talent Incubator Project. To attract and grow new talent that will help ICSC members and the Marketplaces Industry compete with other business sectors, ICSC developed this network of support for incoming talent that also includes scholarships, mentorships and internships.
At the LMU Real Estate Career Day, LMU students will participate in roundtable discussions with prominent real estate executives to learn about career paths and internship opportunities in all aspects of real estate, from adaptive reuse to sales and leasing.
