Schreiber Philanthropy has given a five-year, $253,000 grant to the ICSC Foundation in connection with Morehouse College’s new Morehouse Real Estate Institute. The institute also is open to students at the three other historically Black colleges and universities that form the Atlanta University Center Consortium: Clark Atlanta University, Morris Brown College and Spelman College.

ICSC Foundation University Partners can access ICSC’s professional development and education opportunities, and they receive an unlimited number of ICSC student memberships.
Husband and wife John Schreiber and Kathleen Schreiber founded Schreiber Philanthropy, which counts education among its five funding priorities. John Schreiber is well known in the commercial real estate world. He co-founded Blackstone Real Estate Advisors in 1992 and retired from that role in 2015. He now is president of Centaur Capital Partners.
“John Schreiber is an industry icon, and we’re so grateful to Schreiber Philanthropy for its generous support of this critical initiative to diversify our talent pool,” said ICSC Foundation chair Glenn Rufrano. “Broadening the foundation’s access to capital to include institutional funders, this grant was a true team effort, and among others, we thank ICSC chair Jim Taylor and ICSC Foundation vice chair Brian Finnegan.” Taylor also is CEO of Brixmor, and Finnegan is president and COO of the same company.
ICSC champions small and emerging businesses in getting from business plan to brick-and-mortar.
