ICSC Announces Recipients of the 2018 U.S. Design and Development Awards

November 30, 2018

NEW YORK (November 30, 2018): The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) has announced the winners of the 2018 U.S. Design and Development Awards competition recognizing excellence in innovation and creativity in the U.S. retail real estate industry.

The ICSC U.S. Design and Development Awards competition was open to shopping center owners, developers, management companies, architects, designers, retailers, or other professionals responsible for any retail project or retail store design that demonstrated exceptional development or redevelopment characteristics with a high degree of creativity and uniqueness within the continental U.S. The competition focused on three categories: Renovations and Expansions; New Developments; and Retail Store Design.

Renovations and Expansions 
• Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance, California
• Boulevard East at Avalon in Alpharetta, Georgia

Gold/Gold for Sustainability 
• Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek, California

Gold/Commendation for Sustainability 
• The Pizitz in Birmingham, Alabama

• Galleria Luxury Building at The Galleria in Houston in Houston, Texas
• Laneway at Westfield Santa Anita in Arcadia, California
• Fashion Show in Las Vegas, Nevada
• Oakbrook Center in Oak Brook, Illinois
• Shops at South Town in Sandy, Utah
• Town Center Corte Madera in Corte Madera, California

New Developments
• International Market Place in Honolulu, Hawaii

Commendation/Gold for Sustainability 
• Notch 8 in Alexandria, Virginia

Retail Store Design 
• Brooklyn Boulders Queensbridge in Long Island City, New York
