A Case Study in Catering to Customer Demands

August 27, 2025

The Rechargery Experience?

As you would expect, we’ve got a soft spot for the electric vehicle driver’s experience. As a growing, national charge-point operator, we spend our days putting ourselves in the shoes of our customers. Unfortunately, at the moment the shoes are … uncomfortable.

According to a recent J.D. Power study on EV charging, customer satisfaction in the existing direct-current, fast-charging space experienced a decline from 2024 for two very clear reasons:

  1. dissatisfaction in cost
  2. lack of things to do while charging

When asked specifically about their preferences, the patterns become clear. Customers are looking for ease of charging, the ability to meet fundamental human needs and to fill the 20 to 30 minutes it takes to charge their car. In short, they want the basics:

  • restrooms
  • food and beverage options
  • clean surroundings
  • nearby shopping or dining

Sounds reasonable to us at IONNA!

IONNA Rechargeries Deliver What the Customer Wants

For too long, EV drivers have felt neglected. Pushed aside to charge in dark parking lots without thought to their safety or guarantee of amenities or reliability.

But no more.

IONNA is upping the ante with our Rechargeries, with each one delivering premium charging services designed to meet customer needs and beyond. We’ll name just a few.

By positioning our Rechargeries in both city centers and along highway corridors, we provide an elevated charging experience to everyone, from the stay-at-home parent performing weekly errands to the “corridor warrior” who just celebrated their 20,000th mile on the road this year. Each IONNA Rechargery is strategically placed in and amongst high-traffic areas and within walking distance of restrooms, food-and-beverage or other retail/convenience opportunities. We provide trash cans, car-care amenities and the necessary lighting to ensure our sites are visible and maintained, no matter the time of day.   Wherever possible, we build canopies to provide an extra layer of protection and care for our customers.

Does This Spark Your Interest?

Hosting a Rechargery means positioning your business, development or community directly in the path of a growing wave of consumer traffic. On average, an EV driver spends 30 minutes charging their car. That’s 30 minutes for customers to dine, shop or explore your property.

IONNA is actively seeking retail, commercial and greenfield sites to serve as potential hosts for our network. Whether you’re a property owner, developer or municipality, let us show you what EV charging could be. Let’s connect!
