American consumer confidence has hit an 18-year high, with people’s perception of their personal finances and their spending both at nearly record levels.
U.S. back-to-school spending will increase by 5.1 percent this year, the biggest jump in eight years, on the strength of low unemployment rates and rising incomes, according to one research firm.
Toys R Us announced that it will open a store in New Jersey and one in Texas, both in time for the holidays.
