Tech Marches On for Marcus & Millichap, Yardi and Project REAP

October 14, 2022

Marcus & Millichap is making it easier for clients to discover properties available for sale. The firm has launched MyMMI, an artificial intelligence tool that sends customizable texts or emails about properties added to the company’s database. The passive receipt of new investment information and prospects that meet pre-set criteria can replace or supplement regular searches of the company database. The portal also provides customized market research and industry news.

And proptech firm Yardi has acquired Planimetron, maker of commercial property management platform Propidex. Yardi plans to rebuild and rebrand Propidex by 2023, relaunching under the name Space Manager and incorporating it into Yardi’s existing suite of tech services.

Project REAP has revamped REAP Academy, which offers candidates of color in-depth training in commercial real estate to supercharge their careers. The new format takes advantage of remote learning best practices learned during the pandemic but also incorporates in-person events to promote growth and networking. “We want to connect the best of the past with the next of the future,” said Project REAP executive director Manikka Bowman. The spring 2023 academy will run for seven weeks online and three weeks of in-person classes. A virtual-only option will be available for participants who don’t live close to Atlanta; Chicago; Cleveland, Ohio; Columbus, Ohio; Dallas; Los Angeles; New York City; or Washington, D.C. The organization also is adding more advanced learning options for alumni and encouraging alumni to promote their voices as industry experts on the Project REAP blog and in other professional forums.
