The NFIB Small Business Optimism Index increased 0.9 percentage points in July to 91.9, yet remained below the 49-year average of 98 for the 19th consecutive month. Despite a slight reduction in inflation concerns, small business owners’ outlook on future sales growth and business conditions remains negative. Challenges in hiring qualified employees persist, as 92% of owners struggle to find suitable candidates.
