Small Business Confidence Holds Steady Despite Lingering Inflation Concerns

The Q1 2024 MetLife and U.S. Chamber of Commerce Small Business Index’s confidence score of 62.3 is consistent with the previous quarter. Despite this stability, concerns about inflation persist, as over half of small businesses cited it as a top challenge. However, optimism remains high, as most small business owners express satisfaction with their business health and cash flow, showcasing their resilience in navigating economic challenges. Cybersecurity and supply chain breakdowns emerge as top threats, prompting small businesses to adopt precautionary measures to mitigate risks.
