Convenience is key for today’s consumers, and brands want to get their wares ever closer to them. That is where innovative retailers such as Fox Trot and New Stand come in.
Fox Trot Delivery Market, Chicago
Chicago-based Fox Trot Delivery Market is a multichannel retail service that brings the corner store to the customer. In addition to well-appointed stores, Fox Trot offers an app through which consumers can order upscale alcohol, coffee, tobacco products, prepared foods, gifts and similar household items for home delivery, for a $5 fee.

New York City–based New Stand, meanwhile, bills itself as the "love child" of a blog and a bodega — through its collection of multibrand products, media features and experiences reflecting a contemporary Millennial lifestyle. New Stand stores mix art, apparel, toys and gadgets among such convenience-store staples as coffee, pain killers and snacks.
The New Stand app
New Stand has its own app that offers news and features from a variety of online publications. Shoppers can use the app to purchase goods online or in the store.
New Stand, Brookfield Place, New York City
Fox Trot and New Stand are among the retailers participating in the Retail in Focus program at this year's ICSC New York Deal Making, to be held Dec. 4–6 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
The Retail in Focus program will feature several of the emerging brands now reshaping the shopping environment for consumers. These include the "digital natives" moving on to their next phase by creating a physical retail footprint; the creators of interactive installations that have started driving unique customer experiences; and similar retailers that are captivating their audiences in new and creative ways.
