Allegheny Health Network’s Citizens School of Nursing opened a 21,000-square-foot outpost at Pittsburgh Mills. The school, affiliated with Allegheny Valley Hospital, comprises classrooms, labs and a library.
The school's grand-opening ceremony drew a crowd
The school, which offers a two-year, hospital-based program to prepare students to take the national licensing exam for registered nurses, is the first new tenant to join the center since its acquisition by Great Neck, N.Y.–based Mason Asset Management.
The Citizens School of Nursing enrolls about 150 to 175 students yearly, of which roughly half graduate, and it employs nearly 30 faculty members and support staff. The Tribune-Review reports that the school is expected to draw traffic and sales to the surrounding retailers and restaurants.
