More outlet stores open at Fashion District Philadelphia

February 27, 2020

Armani Exchange Outlet and Eddie Bauer Outlet, among other tenants, have opened at Fashion District Philadelphia.

The shopping center, a joint venture between PREIT and Macerich that comprises some 900,000 square feet of gross leasable area, opened in September 2019 with Burlington, Century 21 and Ulta Beauty among the tenant roster. Since then, AMC Theatres, REC Philly, Round 1, Sephora, Torrid and Wonderspaces have arrived there. Chickie’s & Pete’s is the latest food-and-beverage offering, and Big Gay Ice Cream, Poke Sushi Express, Potato Corner and Wetzel’s Pretzels are expected to open soon.

The outlet retailers here also include Express Factory, Guess Factory, Levi’s Outlet Store and Nike Factory. “Fashion District Philadelphia is a very unique project, as it sits right in the heart of the city,” said Jamie Bourbeau, senior vice president of the Macerich outlets division. “About 50 percent of the GLA at the center is either outlet or value. We feel like that is really important to the Philadelphia market, which tends to be price-sensitive.”

Clair de Lune, DSW, Kate Spade New York, Windsor and Yoyoso, all new to Philadelphia, are set to open there this spring, as are international fast-fashion retailers Primark and Ardene.

“We opened the doors of Fashion District Philadelphia to an enthusiastic crowd and have welcomed over 4.6 million shoppers since then,” said Joseph F. Coradino, CEO of PREIT. “As we enter our first full year of operation, we are pleased to have cemented the tenant mix of the future, introducing experiential retailers such as Wonderspaces and Round 1, as well as popular apparel brands with mass appeal. We expect to capitalize on the momentum created thus far and [to] solidify The District as Philadelphia’s go-to destination for style, dining, entertainment and arts and culture.”
