A mall will comprise the central component of a major mixed-use development planned in metro Dallas–Fort Worth.
Lesso America, the U.S. subsidiary of Hong Kong–based industrial conglomerate China Lesso Group, is applying for permission to develop a project on 77 acres in Frisco that is to contain a multilevel enclosed mall atop a multistory parking garage, according to The Dallas Morning News. The development will also include offices, residential high-rises and a hotel.
Lesso America is also redeveloping a former mall on New York's Long Island into a home-furnishings retail center that will also have restaurants and entertainment tenants.
The Frisco project's designer is architecture firm Gensler, which also designed portions of the $3 billion Legacy West business district, in Plano, Texas.
“Surrounding the lifestyle street is additional retail, office, hotel and urban-living residential with open space interspersed and complementing the development,” reads the official filing, as reported in the newspaper. “The architecture of the property will be modern, with details consisting of smooth finishes, a high detail in glazing techniques, and many contours in the building shape.”
