Doughnut retailer Krispy Kreme will open a flagship in New York City’s Times Square in early 2020.
Visitors to the 4,500-square-foot retail space will be able to view the mixing of the ingredients and other elements of the doughnut-making process. The site will offer a Krispy Kreme "doughnut box" with stadium-style seating — the concept's largest worldwide — and a view of the doughnut theater across the shop.
“Our direction is to be the most loved sweet-treat brand in the world,” said Michael Tattersfield, CEO and president of Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corp. "In the most iconic city in the world, the Krispy Kreme Times Square flagship will showcase our brand on the global stage and inspire customer wonder."
This store will operate 24 hours a day, and the convenience features will include an exterior walk-up window at which patrons may make purchases, as well as an interior counter offering prepacked foods and other merchandise.
Krispy Kreme operates about 1,000 units worldwide.
