Work is progressing on Kimco Realty Corp.’s Dania Point, a massive mixed-use project that is transforming South Florida's Dania Beach. The first phase is scheduled to open in the fall.
“Kimco is creating the most exciting asset for Dania Beach, which we believe will help transform the city from a ‘pass-through’ city to a ‘destination’ location in South Florida,” Dania Beach Mayor Tamara James told REIT Magazine.
When completed, Dania Pointe will comprise nearly 1 million square feet of retail and restaurants, plus two hotels, office space, apartments and community space.

Kimco is working with local developers Terry Salzman and Robert Shapiro on the project, which is located two miles from the Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport and four miles from the Port Everglades cruise port. New Hyde Park, N.Y.–based Kimco is no stranger to the area, having previously developed Oakwood Plaza and Oakwood Business Center, just opposite the Dania Point site.
This project is one of several mixed-use developments featured in a recent SCT article focusing on open-air and mixed-use development.
