JLL hired veteran New York City retail broker Richard B. Hodos as vice chairman, retail brokerage. He is based in the firm’s Manhattan headquarters office and is joined by longtime associate, Michael Remer, who will serve as JLL New York’s vice president, retail brokerage.
The two come to JLL from CBRE and bring nearly four decades of combined experience in full-service real estate consulting for global brands, national retailers and landlords.
Prior to CBRE, Hodos was president and co-founder of Madison HGCD, where he worked with Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, Tiffany & Co., Coach and L Brands. Earlier, he worked for The Lansco Corp. He began his New York real estate career with Edward S. Gordon Company after relocating to the city from Pittsburgh where he worked with The First City Company developing and leasing shopping centers.
Remer has worked with Hodos at CBRE since 2017, representing retail tenants and landlords throughout the city. Previously, Remer was a commercial leasing agent with The Corcoran Group and, before that, an investment advisor with Bank of America.
Past ICSC Trustee Robert “Bob” Stanton died at the age of 84. Stanton’s real estate career began with Goodman Segar Hogan, Inc. where he rose through the ranks to become president, championing high profile projects in Virginia, and more than 30 retail centers in the Hampton Roads area, throughout his career. After retiring from Goodman Segar Hogan, he founded Stanton Partners, Inc. which focused on commercial investments in Virginia and North Carolina. Stanton was an active supporter of education and a contributor to ICSC’s educational programs. He also established an endowed chair in real estate and economic development at his alma mater, Old Dominion University.
