Anchorage, Alaska
Carrs Safeway will open a 66,000-square-foot supermarket in the former Sears space at Midtown Mall. The center was called The Mall at Sears before the anchor closed in 2018.  Anchorage Daily News

Redondo Beach, Calif.
CenterCal opened the 215,000-square-foot 2nd and PCH shopping center. The center sits across from the Alamitos Bay Marina on the site of the former SeaPort Marina Hotel. Anchors include Shake Shack, Lululemon and Whole Foods. The Log

Santa Barbara, Calif.
Developers are planning Orcutt Gateway, a 42,921-square-foot, grocery-anchored center with a fast-food restaurant and a gas station. Noozhawk

San Mateo, Calif.
City officials approved plans to convert a former Aaron Brothers art and framing store in the downtown historic district into a three-level, mixed-use property with 3,412 square feet of ground-floor retail and 19,426 square feet of office space o other floors. The Daily Journal

South Windsor, Conn.
Metro Realty plans to develop a mixed-use property called The Gateway that will include 36,700 square feet of retail space and 85,700 square feet of office space. Journal Inquirer

Doral, Fla.
Terra will develop a 150,000-square-foot center called Doral Square. Tenants at the center, which will open in 2021, include 24-Hour Fitness, Marshalls, Panda Express and World of Beer. The Real Deal

Savannah, Ga.
The Dewitt Tilton Group broke ground on the 17,000-square-foot Shoppes at Lakeside Village, in Pooler. The center has space for 12 tenants, with At&T, Dunkin Donuts and Fantastic Sam’s already signed up. The center is part of a larger master-planned community called Lakeside Village. Fox28

Buffalo, N.Y.
WS Development broke ground on Station Twelve, its redevelopment of the former Northtown Plaza into an upscale lifestyle center anchored by L.L. Bean, Pottery Barn and West Elm. WKBW

Toledo, Ohio
Mercy Health plans to redevelop 4.5 acres near St. Vincent Medical Center into a mixed-use complex with retail and residential space. 13ABC

Allen, Texas
Dalcour Holdings will develop a 570-unit, four-story apartment complex with 30 “retail ready” apartment spaces described as “live-work units,” on a 7-acre vacant tract in the middle of an existing Cinemark-anchored shopping center. Construction is set to begin in early or mid-2020. The Dallas Morning News
