In the pipeline: Who’s building what, where

Tampa, Fla.
The new owner of the Grove at Wesley Chapel has plans to invest $100 million to make that property the community's downtown, with a container park featuring food and crafts, an amphitheater for musical events, and a children’s park. The center lost its Toys R Us and Babies R Us anchors in 2018. Tampa Bay Times

Ruskin, Fla.
Sembler is breaking ground on the Publix-anchored Belmont Shopping Center, in Hillsborough County, Fla. Additional tenants will include a Domino’s Pizza and a nail salon. ABC Action News

Lafayette, La.
La Hacienda Mexican restaurant and Cantina are to anchor a 6,200-square-foot new shopping center that will also house five small shops. Construction is set to kick off soon, with an anticipated 2022 completion date. The Acadiana Advocate

Saginaw, Mich.
Developers are converting a shopping center’s former Kmart and Kroger anchors into climate-controlled storage space and some small shops. MLive

Wayne, N.J.
March Associates Construction expects to open The Parke at Hamburg in June, with an Everbrook Academy, a Habit Burger Grill, a Sport Clips, a Trader Joe’s and an Ulta Beauty as tenants. North Jersey Record

Lower Allen Township, Pa.
Demolition kicked off on the 25,000-square-foot Borders store at Capital City Commons. The developers are transforming the building into a five-level, 125-room Springhill Suites by Marriott hotel. The hotel and some new retail space are set to open in 2021. The store had been vacant since 2011. PennLive

El Paso, Texas
Prestige Development Group has plans to open a 20-acre, 550,000-square-foot mixed-use center called The Gateway, by 2023. The plans call for four buildings with stores and restaurants at ground level, plus some apartments and hotel space above.

Martinsburg, W.Va.
Weis Markets aims to build a new grocery store, alongside HomeGoods and three other adjoining stores, totaling nearly 87,000 square feet. A gasoline station with a kiosk and canopy is in the works too. Construction will kick off next March. The Journal
