Capitola, Calif.
Merlone Geier Partners wants to redevelop the Capitola Mall into a mixed-use project that includes residential units. First-phase plans would involve adding 637 housing units above the existing retail stores, and the second phase would build ground-level residential units. Santa Cruz Sentinel

Colorado Springs, Colo.
Developers want to convert the 145,300-square-foot former Sears store at Broadmoor Towne Center into a space for multiple retailers by 2021. The Gazette

Stratford, Conn.
Developers plan to redevelop the Laurel Mills shopping center into a mixed-use project with 80 town homes and 14,000 square feet of retail space, on a 7.4-acre site. Courier Post​

Atlanta
Atlantic Realty Partners has plans to convert the 15-acre Sprayberry Crossing shopping center, in East Cobb County, into a mixed-use complex with 12,000 square feet of retail, 15,000 square feet of offices, 140 seniors' apartments and 192 traditional apartments. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Aurora, Ill.
Centennial Real Estate is renovating and upgrading its Fox Valley Mall. The 15,900-square-foot center-court space is being remade into a parklike area on the lower level during the first phase. The second phase would involve building social-gathering spaces on the second level. Chicago Tribune

Shawnee Mission, Kan.
Developers are demolishing the defunct Westbrooke Village shopping center to make way for an $113.2 million mixed-use complex that is to comprise 529,500 square feet, including 108,500 square feet of office and retail space, and some 530 luxury residential units. Shawnee Mission Post

Clintonville, Ohio
Casto will work with affordable-housing developer Homeport to build a 180-unit complex of mixed market-rate and affordable-housing units in six three-level buildings on a lot adjacent to the Graceland Shopping Center. Construction is to begin next month. Columbus Underground

Brentwood, Tenn.
The second phase of Hill Center Brentwood is to include such service-oriented tenants as Clean Juice, CycleBar, Drybar, Pure Sweat & Float Studio and PetPeople. An AC Hotels by Marriott hotel is to open there early next year. NewsChannel 5
