Merced, Calif.
Construction could begin this year on a planned makeover for Codding Enterprises’ Merced Mall that will include the addition of 50,000 square feet of retail in an open-air component. The owners are also recruiting new users for the center’s former Sears store. Merced Sun-Star

Sacramento, Calif.
Construction is set to begin on The Park next month. Raley’s Market will anchor the center, which will include an additional 44,000 square feet of small-shop space to accommodate a Chase bank branch, Orangetheory Fitness, Pet Food Express, Supercuts and a restaurant. Macon, Ga.
JWA Ventures will develop the 68,000-square-foot, Publix-anchored Tobesofkee Crossing shopping center. Construction is set to begin sometime during the second quarter of this year, with the grand opening set for the second quarter of next year. WMGT

The Opus Group plans to demolish a downtown strip center and build a mixed-use complex with 119 apartment units and 8,800 square feet of retail. Lawrence Journal-World

The Parke at Hamburg, recently approved by the city planning board, is to include a 30,500-square-foot retail building with five tenants; a 5,000-square-foot fast-food restaurant; and a 12,850-square-foot day care center. Patch

HFZ Capital Group and The Arete Group say they plan to spend $160 million to redevelop a former industrial warehouse called the Ink Factory building, in North Philadelphia, into a mixed-use complex with residential and retail. Metro
