ICSC PAC Donor Spotlight: Neil Robinette

Why do you support ICSC PAC?

I believe it is important for the long-term vibrancy of retail real estate to help elect candidates that support our industry. Supporting ICSC PAC enables me to proactively support a bright future for our industry. The ICSC PAC is our political arm and one of the most valuable tools we have to support our overall efforts.

Why is it important to have a PAC that represents the Marketplaces Industry?

ICSC PAC is the only federally registered political action committee representing the Marketplaces Industry. Our industry is unique and our membership diverse. Having a robust PAC gives ICSC the opportunity to play a role in the political process and to ensure our industry is represented in Congress.

Do you feel that your involvement with ICSC PAC has helped your business?

Absolutely. My work with the PAC has introduced me to an elite group of ICSC volunteers who are passionate about politics and policy. These contacts have enlarged my sphere within the Marketplaces Industry. In addition to growing my professional network, I have witnessed firsthand the benefits of engaging with elected officials and supporting ICSC’s work to oppose tax proposals harmful to family-owned development and investment shops like mine.

Has being an ICSC PAC supporter helped you feel more involved in the political process?

I’ve always had an interest in politics. As an active supporter of ICSC PAC I have unique opportunities to engage with elected officials, talk about our business priorities and legislation that impacts our bottom line. It’s clear to me that without active and consistent engagement, our issues will get left behind.

If you were talking to someone else about giving to ICSC PAC, what would you tell them?

Supporting the ICSC PAC is the easiest and most effective way to support ICSC’s political efforts. The ICSC PAC is both bicameral and bipartisan so our participation in the process is strictly for the benefit of the ICSC membership. Remember, if you’re in business, you’re in politics! You owe it to yourself to make an investment that will secure the future of the Marketplaces Industry and our objectives in Washington.
