Last month, Josh Poag, president & CEO of Poag Shopping Centers and Tyler McIntosh, ICSC federal legislative manager, hosted Congressman David Kustoff (R-TN) for a site visit of Poplar Collection in Memphis, Tennessee. Mr. Poag led a presentation and walking tour of this bustling center, highlighting the center vision and community impact.
Poplar Collection is nestled between prosperous neighborhoods in one of Memphis, Tennessee’s largest business districts.
Rep. Kustoff and Mr. Poag discussed retail real estate trends in Memphis and on a national level. Mr. Poag also shared the negative impact that frivolous ADA “drive-by" lawsuits have had on his business. The two also covered ICSC support for reauthorizing both the National Flood Insurance Program and the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act this Congress.
