Each year ICSC encourages outstanding achievement and innovation in Europe’s retail real estate through the European Shopping Centre Awards. Here are this year’s honorees.
Cascais, Portugal

• The center’s two-phase refurbishment included the addition of Cascais Kitchen — an enhanced food hall that evokes a traditional street fair.
Athens, Greece

• Smart Park comprises three retail buildings and one restaurant on a 91,000-square-meter plot in the municipality of Spata, near Athens, Greece. The open-air development also incorporates 30,000 square meters of high-quality public green space, an outdoor cinema and stage, an archaeological exhibit area, a dancing water fountain, and ample relaxation and rest zones.
