Tech firm CSC Generation Holdings says it has purchased the rights to Bon-Ton and its department store chains: Bergner's, Boston Store, Carson's, Elder-Beerman, Herberger's and Younkers. The deal awaits approval from the bankruptcy court in Delaware.
The new Bon-Ton will focus on e-commerce but is also in advanced discussions with landlords about reopening stores in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, according to USA Today.
When Bon-Ton closed, it was operating about 250 stores across 23 states in the Northeast, the Midwest and the upper Great Plains.
