3 Grants for Women and Minority Small Business Owners

October 3, 2022

A trio of organizations are offering grants to women- and minority-owned small businesses. The awards range from $1,000 to $10,000.

  • The Galaxy Grant program, sponsored by the nonprofit Hidden Star, supports communities whose small businesses historically have lacked access to capital. It awards $4,250. Woman and minority business owners are encouraged to apply and to refer other small business owners. Applications are due by Oct. 30, and winners will be announced Oct. 31. Click here for details.
  • Woman entrepreneurs who are the primary source of their families’ incomes may apply to the Live Your Dream Awards, a grant sponsored by Soroptimist. Women can apply for grants of $1,000 to $10,000 to fund education and training. Applications are due Nov. 15, and details are available here.
  • Woman owners of “trailblazing” businesses are invited to apply for Johnnie Walker First Stride grants of $10,000, sponsored by IFundWomen. Each of 10 winners will receive a $10,000 grant and one year of coaching services through IFundWomen. Submit your application by Dec.31.
