Small business owners, grappling with months of labor market challenges and inflation concerns, are experiencing some relief, according to NFIB. Its Small Business Optimism Index dropped slightly in February, the 26th consecutive month below the 50-year average, yet NFIB reports improvements in attracting and retaining employees. Still, persistently high wage growth and lingering inflation remain significant worries for business owners, who need to recover their investments in the face of high interest rates.
