Kohl’s is extending its Amazon.com package return service to all its stores nationwide starting in July.
The department-store chain takes packages and returns on any eligible Amazon purchase at no cost to the customer. The Amazon Returns at Kohl's program, which Kohl’s introduced in 2017, is currently in place at 100 stores in the Chicago, Los Angeles and Milwaukee markets.

“We are thrilled to bring Amazon Returns at Kohl’s to all of our stores across the country,” said Kohl’s CEO Michelle Gass in a statement on the company’s website. “Amazon and Kohl’s have a shared passion in providing outstanding customer service, and this unique partnership combines Kohl’s strong nationwide store footprint and omni-channel capabilities with Amazon’s reach and customer loyalty. This new service is another example of how Kohl’s is delivering innovation to drive traffic to our stores and bring more relevance to our customers.”
The announcement marks another merging of the physical and online retail worlds for Amazon, which in 2017 acquired Whole Foods Market.
Kohl’s already carries a range of Amazon products, such as the Echo Dot home smart device
Last month Kohl’s announced that it would carry about 200 Amazon products in its stores. The retailer operates some 1,100 stores across 49 states.
This is but one of several innovations Kohl’s has adopted recently to drive traffic. The company has also made room at some of its stores to accommodate grocery chain Aldi, gym operator Planet Fitness and Weight Watchers.
