COVID Sparked a Surge in Start-Ups: Is This the Start of Something New?

Research from the University of Maryland and the Federal Reserve has revealed a notable increase in people starting businesses in the U.S. during and after the pandemic. This surge, spanning restaurants to tech start-ups, may be attributed to pandemic-induced changes in how people live and work and to government programs that provided capital for new businesses. While it’s still early to determine the long-term impact, experts suggest that this revival in business dynamism and increased start-up activity, could break the decades-long trend of declining entrepreneurship in the country.
