Same-store sales at U.S. retailers grew by 7 percent for the week ended Dec. 1, according to Econoday's Redbook. This is nine-tenths of a percentage point slower than the previous week's rate, which registered the strongest annual growth pace in at least 12 years.
Month-to-date sales against the previous month were up by 0.8 percent. Redbook's same store year-on-year sales gains have been the strongest in more than a decade since September, and they continue pointing to the promise of robust strength in retail sales for the key holiday season.
