Aldi
Aldi is introducing On the Go foods, discount meat and fish, and wider aisles at its 13 Baltimore-area stores. This is part of an $18 million overall investment in its stores there and of a $1.9 billion national push to renovate 1,300 Aldi stores by the end of 2020. WBAL TV

Amazon
Amazon.com will open a Boston outpost of its 4-Star concept, which stocks products that receive four-star reviews on its website. The company will also roll out an Amazon Books outlet in Nashville, Tenn. GeekWire

Avenue
Plus-size retailer Avenue will close its 222 stores across 33 states, according to a press release from liquidation company Hilco Merchant Resources. Hilco is managing the liquidation with Gordon Bros. Avenue Stores, LLC, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Friday, according to court records. USA Today

Field’s Foods
Independent St. Louis grocer Fields Foods is opening a store on the ground level of the Lofts@Euclid, an 86-unit apartment building in the city's downtown. St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Goop
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop lifestyle brand is opening a pop-up in Nashville, Tenn. Goop MRKT, as the unit will be called, is to open at 2707 12th Ave. S. NashvillePost

Gordmans
Stage Stores Inc. will convert its 30 Peebles department stores in Virginia to the off-price Gordmans banner. Richmond Times-Dispatch

IT’Sugar
IT’Sugar will open a three-story, 22,000-square-foot shop that the company is calling the world’s largest nonmanufacturer candy store, at American Dream, the Rutherford, N.J., megamall set to open later this year. Delish

Kroger
The Kroger Co. and Walgreens will expand their partnership to stores in Knoxville, Tenn. Starting in the fall, 35 Walgreens stores in this area will feature the store-within-a-store Kroger Express concept and Kroger Pickup, while 17 Kroger stores will launch Walgreens' private-brand health-and-beauty products. This is a continuation of a test begun in Kentucky in October and then expanded to include some stores in Chicago. Progressive Grocer

Pelé Soccer
Soccer star Pelé opened his second U.S. store, on Lincoln Road, in Miami Beach, Fla. The store sells soccer gear from 150 global teams. The 78-year-old Brazilian athlete opened his first U.S. store at Disney Springs, near Orlando, Fla., in 2017. He is set to open a third store in September. Dayton Daily News
