Litchfield Park, Ariz.
The city has plans to develop 33 acres it owns around City Hall into retail, dining, office and entertainment space, and possibly residences as well. Daily News-Sun

Capitola, Calif.
Merlone Geier Partners intends to convert the Capitola Mall into a mixed-use center comprising 600 housing units, some parks, several upscale restaurants and shops, and a cinema. The company acquired the center’s Sears anchor last year and now owns 67 percent of the property. Anchors Macy’s and Target own the rest. Register-Pajaronian

Santa Barbara, Calif.
Developers are spending about $20 million to make over the Paseo Nuevo mall, in the downtown. Lululemon Athletica is to open a store there soon. KEYT

Riverview, Fla.
The 30-acre Riverview 14 GDX development, home to a 14-screen cinema, a Dunkin' Donuts, a Features Gastropub, a T-Mobile and a Zaxby's chicken restaurant will soon welcome a 124-room Extended Stay America hotel and a 10,400-square-foot, stand-alone Cracker Barrel restaurant. Patch

Developers say they plan to build a mixed-use center comprising office, residential and retail space on the site of the former Eastland Mall, which closed in 2011. The Charlotte Observer

Monaca, Pa.
The former Macy’s department store at Beaver Valley Mall is being redeveloped as The Shops at Beaver Valley Mall. Plans include roughly 50,000 square feet of retail, office and service space. Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Nashville, Tenn.
The Mall at Green Hills opened its $200 million, 132,000-square-foot expansion. The two-level wing brings Auntie Anne’s/Jamba Juice, Cinnabon, Foot Locker, Forever 21, GNC Live Well and G-Star RAW into a former Dillard’s store. NashvillePost

Arlington, Va.
American Real Estate Partners chose food-hall operator Oz Rey to create a 12-vendor food hall at the Rosslyn metro station, which is undergoing a $35 million renovation. Eater

Richmond, Calif.
The Shops at Hilltop announced a slate of Asian-inspired food-and-beverage options that will be coming to this 1.2 million-square-foot shopping center as part of a transformation of the former Hilltop Mall, intended to help improve service to the locality. The Richmond Standard
