Jewelry-and-accessories retailer Charming Charlie filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Thursday and says it will close all its stores across 38 states.
Charming Charlie emerged from a previous bankruptcy in April of last year after closing about 100 stores, notes USA Today. At its peak the retailer, founded in 2004, operated nearly 400 stores across the U.S., Canada, the Middle East and the Philippines. USA Today reports that today the chain operates roughly 75 stores across California, Florida and Texas alone.
In this latest filing, the retailer cites "unsustainable operating expenses." The company has commenced with going-out-of-business sales and says it will vacate the stores by Aug. 31.
