New Faculty Application

Any ICSC member based in the U.S. or Canada.

We the initial launch of this program, we are focusing on faculty for some of our new programs that are based in North America.  We hope to expand this program internationally in the future.

There is no application fee to apply. However, you must be an ICSC member in good standing.

Selected candidates are expected to attend the Train the Trainer workshop at RECon 2018 in Las Vegas. Please note, ICSC will not cover candidates' travel, registration or accommodation expenses to attend.

Selection will be divide amongst two phases.

(1) Faculty candidates will be informed by April 27, 2018, that they have been selected and will be invited to attend the mandatory Train the Trainer workshop at RECon 2018 in Las Vegas on May 22, 2018. After the Train the Trainer workshop, we will inform selected candidates of next steps. 

(2) Approximately 15 candidates will be asked to shadow current ICSC faculty at the John T. Riordan School in September 2018. 

*Please note, attendance of the Train the Trainer workshop or the John T. Riordan School does not guarantee a teaching assignment. 

No.  All of our faculty members are industry professionals and, therefore, there is no specific degree requirement to teach.  Our faculty offer great diversity in educational background.

ICSC's Education team will provide all faculty members with ongoing training in adult learning principles and best practices in teaching and facilitation so that you may best communicate your expertise to ICSC program participants.

Unfortunately, no. ICSC faculty act as professional development volunteers.

Some candidates may be selected to begin teaching as early as December 2018.  There will be an ongoing process of training as well as pairing the right candidates with the right curriculum, topics, and events.  There is no specific timeline for teaching assignments. 

It is helpful to note that ICSC’s major educational events are at RECon Las Vegas (May), New York Deal Making (December) and the John T. Riordan School (typically held every year in the fall).  However, there are also monthly member webinars and other professional development workshops that take place throughout the year.

ICSC faculty members teach in a diverse array of formats and cover topics that span the retail real estate industry. 

If chosen to teach, you will be matched with course and workshop topics that fit your background and expertise. 

We offer professional development programs that range from 90 minutes to three (3) hours and, select courses, that require full days of coursework. Some offered programs have a strict curriculum, but at other times you will be able to create your own coursework.
